Impossible Becomes Possible
An Advent devotional to kick off your week
“For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Luke 1:37 NIV
Google it. We live in a world where the answer to most of life’s complex questions is just a few taps away. We’re stuck on reasoning and explaining all of life’s mysteries.
How did the magician do the trick? How did the butterfly transform? How did the underdog army defeat the all-powerful enemy?
Just search for the answer, it’s seconds away and most likely a YouTube video as well.
Yet when we pause to honor advent, we’re reminded of two things.
One, there are still situations that render impossible on earth. While reason and information makes us feel like we can do and know everything, life still has limits and limitations. Some things simply cannot be, and simply cannot be known.
Two, God takes our limits and breaks them. From a virgin woman becoming a mom to stars appearing in the sky and serving as a holy compass, advent reminds us that what man cannot do, God can.
He is a God of miracles, and He promises that what is impossible for us is possible with Him.
Breath Prayer
Inhale: Help me believe…
Exhale: … everything is possible with you.
